How to use Call Doctor Service
Covering physicians and the practice administrator use different screens after sign-in.
After you sign in at /login, a physician account opens the after-hours case board. The practice administrator account also lands on the board, with an Admin button for clinicians, on-call schedule, and billing. If you only see cases and no Admin button, you are signed in as a physician, not as the practice administrator.
On-call physicians
You take call for your practice. The practice administrator requested the service and manages the roster.
- Open the invite email from Call Doctor Service. The link goes to https://calldoctorservice.com/login.
- Set a password on that page the first time. After that, sign in with that email and password. Use Show next to the password field if you need to check what you typed.
- If you forget the password, open /login, tap Forgot password?, and follow the email link to choose a new one.
- You should see After-hours cases for your practice. A text alert does not create this login by itself; tapping an SMS alert still opens the call board after you sign in.
When a caller uses the after-hours line
- If you opted in to texts, you get an SMS with the date of birth, callback number, and a link. You can dial from the text if you do not have internet. Tap the link to play the recording, then tap Call Patient if you want the practice number to show.
- Open the link (or go to /app). Sign in if asked. That case is at the top.
- Play the recording. Read date of birth, callback number, and language.
- Tap Call Patient. We ring your cell, then the patient, on the practice number. The family does not see your personal number.
- A completed Call Patient call closes the case. If you called another way, tap Mark resolved or you will get a reminder text and a follow-up call.
Texts (optional)
The board and the call bridge work without SMS. To get text alerts, opt in on https://calldoctorservice.com/sms-program with the same mobile number that is on your clinician profile. Check the SMS box, then submit. You should see a green confirmation. Reply STOP on any text to cancel alerts.
If nothing is on the board
- You may not be on the on-call schedule for this moment. Ask the practice administrator to add coverage at /admin.
- Your login may not be linked to a clinician profile. Ask the practice administrator or email support@calldoctorservice.com.
Practice administrators
You requested service, paid, and manage billing, the clinician roster, and on-call coverage. Sign in with the administrator email from the request form.
Where to go
- /app — after-hours cases (same board clinicians use).
- /admin — clinicians, on-call schedule, missed-call alert email, billing portal.
The Admin screen is hidden from physician-only logins. If you need it and do not see the button, you are not on the administrator account.
Missed-call alert email
On /admin, under Missed-call alerts, change the address and click Save alert email. Office-hours missed calls and the daily summary go there. That is not the same as the login email.
Roster and schedule
- Add every covering clinician: name, email, mobile (voice / call bridge).
- Add them to the on-call schedule in the practice timezone. Use a one-time start and end, or repeating days of the week, days of the month, or every N weeks from a start date. Repeating coverage stays on until you stop it. Saving emails them a sign-in link and the SMS opt-in page.
- Disable a clinician who should no longer take call. Do not delete historical cases.
SMS for clinicians
Listing a mobile on /admin does not enroll texts. When you put a clinician on the on-call schedule, they get an email with /sms-program. They opt in there with that exact number. Consent is not required to use the board.
Billing
$100 per month includes 100 completed calls. Extra completed calls are $1 each on the following invoice. Use Update card or cancel in Stripe on /admin. Canceling stops after-hours answering. Historical cases are kept.
Forwarding
If you asked to forward the clinic’s main number after hours, use the forwarding instructions in the go-live email. If you publish the dedicated after-hours number, put that number on the answering machine and website.
